Talland College is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Education Assistant for the Vavo department. Are you someone with knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and an interest in teaching students preparing for their HAVO and VWO exams? Then we are looking for you!

The function
As a TOA at Vavo Talland, you will support teachers of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and NLT with the practical aspects of these subjects. You will work closely with the teachers and contribute to the quality of lessons and student guidance. You are the face of our practical classrooms!

 The training and the team
Vavo Zaandam provides education for students who wish to obtain a HAVO or VWO diploma, or who wish to obtain one or more certificates that grant them access to further education at a university of applied sciences or university.
The teachers rapidly work through all exam material, develop exams, and mark results. The team largely consists of first-degree teachers who work very independently. 

Job requirements

Your profile
You are an enthusiastic and communicative individual who enjoys collaborating with various colleagues to make education as practical as possible. You enjoy interacting with students, helping them, but also addressing how they handle materials. You are organised and work methodically, ensuring materials are always ordered in good time and stored carefully.
You assist teachers of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and NLT with their teaching duties by:

  • developing tests and exercises, and compiling practical work and final projects.;

  • constructing test setups and building experimental setups, game situations, etc., for educational and research purposes;

  • co-drafting manuals for the application of skills, for the use of equipment, and for the development of instructional materials and operational procedures;

  • The supervision of pupils (instruction, safety monitoring, checking observations, assessing and recording results). 

You manage practice rooms (classrooms and storage) and equipment. You advise on the purchase of equipment, applications, materials and tools. You draw up maintenance schedules and ensure the timely replacement/renewal of the equipment and tools set up in the practice rooms.

Are you our new colleague?
