The Schagen de Boomgaard branch is looking, effective from 1 October 2026, for a
Teaching Assistant Healthy School Canteen – 0.2411 FTE (sickness cover)
What will you do?
In this role you guide pre-vocational secondary education pupils in running our healthy school canteen, a fantastic learning project that has been run by pupils themselves for over eight years and is part of their exam programme.
You work with small groups of pupils aged 14 to 16 and give them clear and enthusiastic instructions about working in the canteen, including HACCP and allergen rules. You track their progress according to fixed schedules and encourage them to take responsibility. At the same time, you ensure a smoothly running canteen by taking charge of stock management and orders. Thanks to your guidance, pupils experience a safe, pleasant learning environment in which they can truly grow. You work on Mondays and Fridays from 09:00 to 14:30.
Job requirements
You are enthusiastic, engaged and enjoy passing on your knowledge and skills. You know how to motivate pupils and see what they need to be successful.You possess:
- At least a vocational education (MBO) level 4 diploma as a Teaching Assistant;
- Demonstrable experience with pupils;
- Experience in the hospitality industry is an advantage;
- Good pedagogical and didactic skills.
- An affinity with the target audience is an advantage.
- A first aid / emergency response certificate is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HACCP and allergen legislation.
- You are enterprising, flexible and dare to take the initiative.
- You are good at motivating and managing pupils.
