Vacancy: Senior ICT System Administrator (0.8 – 1.0 FTE)
Are you the experienced ICT professional who brings calm to technology, understands complex infrastructures, and knows that ICT is there to serve education? Due to the departure of our current colleague, the St. Michaël College is looking for a decisive and all-round Senior ICT System Administrator.

Your role as Senior System Administrator
As a Senior ICT System Administrator, you are the technical foundation of our school. You are responsible for the continuity, security, and renewal of our complete ICT environment (servers, networks, and switches). You have a strong operational role, monitor internal processes, and are the first point of contact for the external companies and suppliers with whom we collaborate.

Working alongside the Head of ICT (who acts as the liaison between school management and the teaching staff), you look ahead: you prepare the budget and determine what the school will need in the future. No two days are the same. One moment you'll ensure that the digital testing environments (such as Facet, Woots, and SchoolYear) run smoothly and securely for exams. The next, you'll manage the technical backend of our modern school facilities, like the digital key system (Salto) and the smart student lockers (Vecos). Additionally, you'll contribute to the practical implementation of the new IBP framework (Information Security and Privacy).

ICT projects
If a major infrastructure change is required, you will lead the project from start to finish. This includes replacing servers or network switches, rolling out a new Wi-Fi network, or equipping a complete corridor with new interactive whiteboards.

You will work in this role in a small, close-knit team alongside a system administrator, a workplace administrator, and the functional administrator for Magister.

In short: a versatile, responsible pivotal role in which you ensure that our teachers and students can work and learn without a care every day!

Job requirements

What we ask of you
  • Level & Experience You have a professional bachelor's or working-and-thinking level and have extensive, demonstrable experience with network and system administration.
  • Infrastructure You have in-depth knowledge of servers, switches, firewalls, certificates, and license management.
  • Magister & Couplings Experience with (the technical back-end and integrations of) Magister and Zermelo is a big advantage.
  • Digital Testing: You preferably have experience with setting up secure digital testing environments (e.g. SchoolYear, Facet, Woots).
  • International Business Plan You have knowledge of or an interest in Information Security and Privacy and find it challenging to practically translate the legal framework to the workplace.
  • Flexibility & Projects: You understand that heavy maintenance and large projects take place when the school is empty. You are therefore prepared to work occasionally during a school holiday. Additionally, you are flexible if an evening activity (such as a parents' evening) requires ICT support.

Employment conditions

What do we offer?
  • A challenging, independent role with a lot of responsibility at our lovely school.
  • An appointment with a view to a permanent position.
  • The salary grading will be discussed and is dependent on your exact knowledge and experience.
  • Plenty of opportunities for professional development.
  • Collective disability insurance.
  • A laptop on loan.
  • A monthly sports allowance.
  • A year-end bonus of 8.33% according to the CAO VO.
