- Scope: 0.6 – 0.8 FTE, possibility of expansion through the use of flexible hours and/or mentorship
- Second-degree qualification or studying for it
- Start date: 1 August 2026
At the Copernicus, you give students the space to discover who they are and what suits them. You work at a public school offering pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO), senior general secondary education (HAVO) and pre-university education (VWO), where clarity and structure form the foundation. At the same time, there is room to experiment and grow. You feel at home in a no-nonsense school where agreements are clear and where everyone can be themselves.
What makes Copernicus special is the extended bridge period. In mavo/havo, this lasts for two years, and in havo/vwo, it's even three years. Pupils are given time to discover their level, without making hasty choices. In mixed-ability classes, they work at two levels and see for themselves where they stand. With your guidance, you help them progress step by step, in a calm and safe learning environment.
What does this position look like?
For the TeHaTex subject, we work with our own materials. This means you'll have the freedom to design your lessons however you wish. The department has already created many lesson series, but there is always room for new ideas and new materials. Moreover, we do this together. Not just with the whole team, but also with your department. All to get the most out of the students. In an engaging, safe environment.
What do you bring?
We have a vacancy for a colleague with a second-grade teaching qualification, or who is studying for one. You are confident in asking questions when collaborating with colleagues. Furthermore, you possess strong pedagogical and didactic skills and employ active teaching methods. You are capable of creating a safe classroom environment and approach students positively. It goes without saying that you keep up with educational innovations and are adept at using digital learning resources.
What do we offer?
A pleasant working atmosphere with short lines of communication, a great deal of mutual trust, and ample opportunities for personal development. You can help shape your own working environment and conditions. A warm, well-organised, and manageable school where everyone knows each other. Did you know that Copernicus SG scores a 9.7 for safety? New colleagues can count on a pleasant start and guidance. Together, we ensure that you quickly feel at home with us.
This position is rated on scale LB. The CAO VO also offers attractive secondary benefits, such as an excellent leave arrangement, a generous (fiscal) exchange scheme, and a semi-collective disability insurance policy. Naturally, you will also be provided with a laptop for business use. In addition, we offer ample scope for professional and personal development.
