Do you work in industrial automation or machine building and is robotics your specialty? Bring your knowledge and experience from the business world to the vocational education sector and help us build the education of the future.

The function
Within the Education Innovation Lab, the theme of Robotics & AI, you work together with teachers, students, the practice teacher and companies. You show us what developments you see in the professional practice, inspire us with new possibilities and together with us explore what these mean for the knowledge and skills of future professionals. You then help to translate promising applications into education and the curriculum. In this way, you combine your current work with the opportunity to co-shape the VET education of tomorrow.

You bring up-to-date knowledge and experience from the business world and help us look ahead. What changes will robotics and AI bring to the workplace? What should our students know and be able to do in the future? And what does that require of our education?

  • You bring teachers and students up to date on current and future developments in robotics and show what they mean for professional practice;

  • You inspire, advise and challenge us to look at current education in a different way;

  • You translate practical questions and developments together with the practitioner, teachers and companies into concrete projects and experiments;

  • You program and integrate robots, and together with students and teachers you build experimental setups and test applications. Five new cobots are ready for this;

  • you use these experiments to jointly discover what a structured place should be in lessons, projects and the curriculum;

  • You help teachers further develop their knowledge and skills in robotics so that they can eventually implement new applications themselves in their teaching;

  • You share knowledge and experiences within the Education Innovation Lab, so that other programs can learn from it as well.

Job requirements

Your profile
You have current practical experience in industrial automation or machine building, with robotics as your specialty. You can independently program and apply robots in automation projects. Experience with vision or AI is a clear advantage. But we are looking for more than technical knowledge. You follow developments in your field, can bring us up to date on what is changing in the business world, and enjoy translating that knowledge into the skills of tomorrow’s professionals. You inspire others, explain technology in a clear way, and enjoy working together with students and teachers. Teaching experience is welcome, but not a prerequisite.

Our offer
We are offering an 8-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension. Together with you and your employer, we will discuss how you can combine this with your current job. For you, this is the opportunity to experience, alongside your work in the business world, what it is like to transfer knowledge and contribute to innovative vocational education. It also creates a direct connection for your employer with the VET sector. You bring developments and practical questions from the company into the teaching and bring knowledge, experiences, and new ideas back. This is how business and education work together to produce skilled professionals prepared for a professional practice in which robotics and AI play an increasingly important role. A company project must fit into the research program and contribute to the learning of students and the development of the education system.

  • We offer the position in scale 11 (minimum € 4,396,- maximum € 6,459,- gross for a full-time appointment). The scale is also based on knowledge, experience and education; the intended salary increase for 2026-2027 has not yet been taken into account in this context. Other forms of flexible deployment are negotiable if they fall within the legal frameworks set;

  • Depending on the contractual arrangements, attractive programs in the areas of vitality and lifestyle can be offered at Talland;

  • holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;

  • group insurance;

  • attractive vitality and lifestyle schemes.
