The function
As a housing advisor, you have a wide range of responsibilities and use your expertise and experience to ensure that educational buildings, installations, and grounds are continuously safe and usable.

• You are responsible for property management, ensuring that the building and its associated installations are kept in order and up-to-date with regard to continuity, safety, sustainability, and compliance with laws and regulations (technical maintenance/ compliancy);

• you are responsible for the preparation, execution/coordination, and updating of maintenance and investment plans;

• You advise on renovations and redecorations, and organise, coordinate and manage these processes.;

• identifies and advises, in the broadest sense, on housing, management and maintenance issues;

• You are the linchpin for the housing of education and staff, directing space management (and fitting out), and supporting the process for the (rental) of locations.;

• You will work closely with colleagues from the Facilities & Service, Procurement & Contracts, and Planning & Scheduling teams;

• You provide substantive and financial input for the budget cycle and, in conjunction with the manager and colleagues, monitor its expenditure. 

About the team
The Housing Team is made up of a manager, policy and advisory officers, specialist professionals, and a management/project support officer. In total, this is around 10 FTE. Talland College owns 5 (educational) buildings with a total area of over +- 94,000 m2, supplemented by a number of rental locations. Inside Business operations are the responsibility of the Housing team for optimally presenting and making available the buildings, facilities, and grounds for the educational organisation. Components of this include, among others,. property management (including maintenance and compliance), space management (space allocation and utilisation), leasing and letting, inventory (furniture), policy development (including strategic accommodation plans), project execution (renovations and refurbishments), and contract management.

Job requirements

Your profile

• You have HBO work and intellectual capacity;

• You have a recognised qualification in the field of property/housing.;

• You have several years of (work) experience in the same or a similar role;

• You have knowledge of and a current vision on developments in the field, and insight into organisational, process-related, and technical interdependencies in a broader context than your own area of focus.;

• You are familiar with the technical, financial, and legal aspects of real estate.;

• You are collaborative, easily switching between strategic and tactical thinking and operational action.;

• You are able to bring together diverse interests, you communicate and advise on possibilities and impossibilities in a focused manner;

• You are skilled in analysing developments and drafting new or alternative proposals, notes and implementation plans;

• You are skilled in coordinating projects;

• you have a customer/service-oriented and entrepreneurial attitude;

• You are proactive, independent, and take the initiative.;

• An affinity with education is desirable.

• Initially an appointment for a period of one year, with a view to extension or permanent employment;

• appointment scope of 0.6-0.8 FTE;

• salary in scale 10 (€3,713 to a maximum of €5,495 based on a full-time appointment). The salary scale will depend on your relevant (work) experience and education;

• holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;

• 30 days' holiday (for a full-time contract) and the possibility to accrue extra holiday days;
