- Scope: 0.2 – 0.3 FTE, possibility of expansion through the use of flex-time and/or mentoring
- Start date: 1 August 2026
At the Copernicus, you give students the space to discover who they are and what suits them. You work at a public school offering pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO), senior general secondary education (HAVO) and pre-university education (VWO), where clarity and structure form the foundation. At the same time, there is room to experiment and grow. You feel at home in a no-nonsense school where agreements are clear and where everyone can be themselves.
What makes Copernicus special is the extended bridge period. In mavo/havo, this lasts for two years, and in havo/vwo, it's even three years. Pupils are given time to discover their level, without making hasty choices. In mixed-ability classes, they work at two levels and see for themselves where they stand. With your guidance, you help them progress step by step, in a calm and safe learning environment.
What does this position look like?
You will be joining a highly ambitious team. Everyone has their specific strengths, which leads to a very enthusiastic and specialised section. All with the aim of guiding children towards better movement and motivating them towards a lifelong healthy lifestyle. Because we demand quality from our regular students and our sports class students, we offer a wide variety and levels of sport and physical activity in general. Continuous observation of each other's lessons is commonplace, and collaboration between teachers and classes is one of the lesson objectives. If you are this team player with a passion for our profession, we look forward to meeting you.
What do you bring?
You possess a first-degree qualification. You enjoy positively coaching and mentoring students. Their learning objectives also become somewhat your objective. Furthermore, you like to keep up with innovations in education, as our world sometimes changes rapidly. And that's good, because good can always be improved.
What do we offer?
Job satisfaction, fulfilment, and plenty of opportunities for further development. No top-down management: you can help shape your own work environment and conditions. A warm, well-organised, and approachable school where everyone knows each other. Did you know Copernicus SG scores a 9.7 for safety? New colleagues can count on a good start. We achieve this, among other things, by pairing you with a colleague. Together, we ensure you quickly feel at home with us.
What does your appreciation look like?
