The function
As a Media Designer lecturer:

  • Do you have a teaching qualification, for example a PDG or a second-degree teacher training course?;

  • You teach young people aged 16 to 22 at level 4;

  • Develop and deliver your lessons in areas such as Projects, Workshops, technical theory, Figma and Adobe software;

  • support and coach your students, including through mentoring;

  • Do you structurally work on quality, share your knowledge and provide constructive feedback to colleagues?;

  • What underpins a holistic approach to education and assessment, thereby supporting students through the learning process with rich feedback.

About the team
The Design team is part of the Business & IT sector. The Design teaching team consists of 12 colleagues. Our ambition is to offer a high-quality and challenging course that aligns with current and future developments in the field.
The team is fully developing towards realistic, project-driven education. Within this educational vision, the student's development is central. Through rich feedback, students are encouraged to take an ever-greater step forward. Their development is monitored and examined via a portfolio. In addition, the team actively follows changes in the job market and translates these into the curriculum. It is a motivated, creative, and dynamic team that, in this next development phase, has room for a colleague who brings structure, takes initiative, and knows how to bring others along.
Within our team, we are looking for a colleague who is strong in both teaching and subject matter expertise, and who has a good grasp of project-based work and assessment. Someone who connects people and ideas, actively contributes to discussions, and uses feedback to move forward together. A colleague who brings energy, provides direction, and helps to transform working together into truly collaborative working.

Job requirements

Your profile
You are an experienced Media Design lecturer with a coaching attitude and a strong connection to the target audience. You know how to motivate, guide, and advance Level 4 students in their development. You provide clear frameworks, encourage ownership, and consciously use rich feedback as part of the learning process.

You are strong in teaching, broadly employable in terms of subject matter, and accustomed to working on projects. You actively contribute to discussions about various teaching methods, can differentiate between learning styles and levels, and know how to bring structure to education that is still very much in development.

Furthermore, you are a true team player who looks beyond your own lessons. You think in terms of possibilities, see opportunities for improvement and innovation, and take the initiative to pursue ideas together with colleagues. You communicate clearly, give and receive feedback constructively, and contribute to open, professional collaboration within the team.

Further

  • Do you have a qualification to teach in MBO, for example a PDG or a second-grade teaching qualification?;

  • Do you have experience as a teacher within vocational education (MBO) and an affinity with students aged 16 to 22?;

  • Do you have a professional bachelor's (HBO) level of thinking and working?;

  • Do you have knowledge of and experience with Adobe software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign;

  • is experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Premiere Pro and/or other current design software a valuable asset;

  • Do you have experience with project-based learning, coaching, and/or portfolio development?;

  • Are you organised and able to bring structure to lessons, projects, and assessment moments?;

  • Do you possess good communication and didactic skills?.

  • This is initially a temporary appointment for the period of one year, with the possibility of an extension;

  • When you do not have teaching qualifications for MBO, you will be appointed as a teacher in scale LB (€3,713 to a maximum of €5,078 gross for a full-time appointment). For qualified teachers, we offer the opportunity to be appointed to the position of Core Teacher in salary scale LC (€4,226 to a maximum of €5,740 gross for a full-time appointment). Salary placement is also based on knowledge, experience, and education.;

  • holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;
