Atlas College is looking for SG Newton in Hoorn a  
mathematics teacher with a second-grade teaching qualification
 

• 1.0 FTE: 22-24 teaching hours per week
• Start date: 1 August 2026
• Temporary employment with the prospect of permanent employment

What will you do?
You develop inspiring and high-quality lessons, both independently and together with your colleagues within the department. You are confident in the classroom, know how to inspire students and visibly enjoy guiding their learning process. Through your efforts, students grow in self-confidence and dare to take new steps. You ensure that every student feels seen and makes progress every day, so that they are well-prepared for the job market later on. In addition to mathematics lessons, you also teach numeracy lessons and, on behalf of SG Newton, participate in a national pilot project called ‘numeracy’ together with fellow maths teachers.
 
What do you bring?
You are a qualified mathematics teacher or studying to become one. You have:

• A passion for both your profession and for working with our target group
• An open and inspiring attitude that allows you to motivate pupils.
• Fancy turning your creative ideas into an ongoing lesson programme
• The willingness to work together with colleagues to bring out the best in our pupils, using an evidence-informed approach.

What do we offer you?
At SG Newton, you get the chance to really make a difference. You will start with a temporary contract with the clear intention of converting this to a permanent position on the basis of good performance. You will be placed in scale LB according to the CAO VO, up to a maximum of 5,520 gross per month for full-time employment, commensurate with your background and experience.
