The Jan van Egmond Lyceum (grammar school, atheneum and havo) has a strong focus on art & culture, science and sports. Our school has existed for over 100 years and is reinventing itself. The world around us is changing rapidly. So are our pupils. And at the same time, we need to help them continue to understand the world and hold their own in it. And we need you for that!
We are looking for a
Maths teacher 1e of 2e grade (0.6 fte - 1.0 fte)
We are looking for someone to join our team for a longer period of time, so this is a temporary vacancy with a view to permanent.
In consultation with you and the rest of our enthusiastic mathematics department, we will determine precisely how many classes and which ones you will be teaching. Furthermore, we also have the JEL Academy: Here, students work on interdisciplinary projects and take modules such as sign language or extra mathematics tuition. This academy is still very much under development, and you are most welcome to contribute to it.

Pay is based on competence and experience. You will receive a MacBook on loan for use in the internal digital school environment. This is a temporary vacancy with a view to a permanent position.
What do you bring?
You know how to explain complex subjects in an accessible and engaging way and are attentive to the individual needs and talents of pupils. You can enthuse pupils with examples that connect to their world of experience and can help with knowledge transfer to other subjects. You have a broad knowledge of mathematics, but you are also able to convey this knowledge in an inspiring and understandable way. You also know how to pay attention to and determine the various types of mathematics in upper secondary school.
You possess a first or second-grade teaching qualification in mathematics, or you are currently studying for one. You have good pedagogical and didactic skills and an affinity for teaching students at grammar school, academic secondary school, general secondary school (HAVO), and intermediate vocational secondary school/HAVO levels. You understand that education can and needs to be different, and you are happy to contribute to this alongside colleagues. You closely follow educational developments and are proficient with new (interactive) media.

About Jan van Egmond Lyceum
The Purmerendse ScholenGroep (PSG) is a partnership of six secondary schools in the Waterland region and surrounding municipalities. The organisation has a havo/vwo campus (Jan van Egmond Lyceum and Da Vinci College), a vmbo/pro campus (SG Antoni Gaudí, SG Nelson Mandela, SG W.J. Bladergroen, the SG Gerrit Rietveld) and support services.
Within our school group, there are opportunities for both first- and second-grade teachers. The wide variety of schools within our group guarantees a highly varied job.
