Welcome to The WJB!
At our school, we believe in the power of our pupils. By tailoring our educational provision to their strengths, we ensure that every pupil thrives. We challenge them to achieve their best at their own level, with a focus on independence, social skills, and self-confidence.
The WJB offers a safe haven for pupils who need extra support. As an education professional with us, you offer more than just a lesson; you provide structure, care, and genuine attention.
What will you do?
As a Teacher of People and Health, you are the face of the ‘Care & Well-being’ side for our junior secondary pupils (VMBO/LWOO). Because we want to further professionalise this field, you will have the opportunity to actively develop the learning content for the junior secondary level.
- Subject-specific builder You develop engaging learning materials and projects that enthuse pupils for the healthcare and welfare sector; in combination with the Biology section. You translate theory into tangible practical experiences.
- Growth on three levels: You are focused on the development of your students, the renewal of your lessons, and your own professional growth.
- Orientation & Foundation You introduce pupils to health, personal care, nutrition, and social skills. You help them discover where their talents lie.
- Safe learning environment You create a structured and safe environment where pupils dare to make mistakes and grow in their self-confidence.
What do you bring?
- Teaching qualification You have a teaching qualification for VMBO and something that links to the Care and Well-being profile.
- Developmental potential You enjoy not only working from a playbook, but also contributing your own ideas on how we can strengthen the ‘Human and Health’ subject in the lower school.
- Pedagogical heart You have an affinity with the target audience (VMBO/LWO) and understand that a good relationship is the basis for all learning achievement.
- Creativity & Practicality You know how to bring the care aspect of the profession to life with active and creative working methods.
- Team player You enjoy working with colleagues and are flexible in a dynamic school environment.
What do we offer?
- An appointment of 0.5 to 0.7 FTE.
- A challenging role in which you can really make your mark on the direction of the subject in the lower school.
- Room for your own initiative and a budget for your personal development.
- NMW Scale LB (€ 3,622 to € 5,520 per month full-time), depending on experience.
- Good secondary benefits: pension scheme, cycling scheme, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%%, and a loan MacBook.
