We are looking for an enthusiastic Instructor for our Hospitality training programmes at our locations in Heerhugowaard and Purmerend. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the hospitality sector as a head chef or kitchen manager. In addition, it is important that you have good communication skills, are able to collaborate well and are a true doer. You are known for your reliability and have an empathetic manner. Guiding students in the 16 to 20 age group is something that gives you energy and that you excel at.
As a kitchen instructor, you will have the opportunity to pass on your knowledge and experience to motivated students. You will play an important role in their development and growth within the hospitality industry. Within the hospitality team, keeping to agreements is of paramount importance and we strive for a positive and stimulating learning environment for both students and colleagues.
This vacancy is initially for sickness cover at the Heerhugowaard location.

The function
As a kitchen instructor, you deliver inspiring and practical lessons, passing on your professional knowledge and passion for the catering industry to our students. As an instructor, you work together with a team of colleagues on the development and renewal of (vocational) education that is aligned with practice. It is your task to deliver education (preparation, implementation, assessment and evaluation) tailored to the learning needs of the students. In addition, you guide individual students and groups in their learning process, with coaching and encouragement being important aspects. You also shape the education yourself by developing learning resources, teaching materials, modules and other parts of the curriculum.

Job requirements

Your profile

• An instructor's qualification and experience in teaching within the subject area in vocational education (MBO) is an advantage;

• background in the catering industry in the kitchen, with extensive practical experience of at least 10 years is required;

• a minimum of a Level 3 Qualified Chef diploma is required;

• Mentor diploma and demonstrable experience as a mentor are required;

• coaching approach, whereby you motivate and guide students in their development;

• proactive attitude, actively contributing to the quality and innovation of education;

• team player, who enjoys collaborating with colleagues in a results-oriented team;

• passion for workmanship, an eye for detail and a love for the craft;

• enthusiasm and commitment, with which you create an inspiring learning environment;

• flexible and adaptable, responding to the needs of students and changes in education.
