The function
As a Secondary Education-MBO Study Choice Transition Advisor, you are the crucial link for study choice and enrichment of Career Orientation and Guidance (LOB) between secondary education and MBO (intermediate vocational education). You will engage with secondary schools on how current career orientation and guidance (LOB) can be enriched to better support students with their study choices.
Within this collaboration, the Over de Streep programme plays a central role. Over de Streep is a series of lessons and a digital tool that supports third-year secondary school pupils in making a suitable choice of study for vocational education (mbo). More information about the programme can be found at: www.overdestreepnoordholland.nl.
You maintain the collaboration with schools and other partners, evaluate the deployment of Over de Streep, and actively contribute to improvements and further development of the support.
A key task within this role is to strengthen the connection between secondary education (VO) and study choices in vocational education (MBO). In doing so, you will investigate possibilities to further enhance orientation towards vocational courses and professions, for example by:

  • linking relevant content from other platforms;

  • Connecting orientation activities of vocational schools in the region;

  • developing a follow-up lesson series for fourth-year students identifying opportunities for further collaboration between secondary and vocational education.

You will collaborate with colleagues within Talland College, Vonk, deans, LOB coordinators, and other involved partners in the region.

What will you do?

  • You maintain and strengthen the collaboration between secondary schools and vocational colleges in the region.;

  • You advise vocational education (VO) schools on enriching their career orientation (LOB) programmes through regional opportunities for vocational education and training (MBO) orientation.;

  • You guide and evaluate the implementation of the "Over de Streep" programme; and come up with development and improvement proposals.

  • You are investigating ways to further enrich career and education guidance.;

  • You signal developments within secondary education, vocational education, and lifelong learning and translate these into concrete improvements.;

  • You are the point of contact for involved schools and collaboration partners.

  • You are contributing to the accountability of resources/effort.
