About us

At Gerrit Rietveld, we work together on the basis of our PBS values: Respect, Safety and Fun. By working together every day to make things a little better for our pupils, we create a warm, safe and predictable GR school climate. With approximately 460 pupils, our school is a small-scale school where we value attention to each other and learning by doing. We are a team-centred work organisation and our small teaching teams stand around a fixed group of pupils.

What will you do?

Due to the maternity leave of two colleagues, the Gerrit Rietveld is looking for an English teacher. As an English teacher, you will teach vmbo students in all our learning programmes. You will provide lessons for the subject of English and you will guide and coach students in their learning goals. You will also provide a positive and safe learning environment. As a teacher, together with colleagues from the education team, you are able to get the most out of a pupil.

 What do you bring?

• You hold a second-degree qualification in English or are studying for one.
• You have strong pedagogical and teaching skills.
• You can provide a safe learning environment, a good relationship with students comes naturally to you.
• You have an affinity with teaching vmbo students
• You know how to enthuse students; through your efforts, students feel welcome and motivated to learn.
• You are solution-oriented and, above all, a team player.
• You closely follow educational innovations and are proficient with new (interactive) media.
• You are up-to-date with developments in your field.

This job comes with an appropriate salary according to CAO-VO, depending on education and experience. As the Gerrit Rietveld, we receive a labour market allowance for all our employees. You will receive a MacBook Air on loan to do your job well. We offer a temporary contract until the end of leave in October 2026.
