The Jan van Egmond Lyceum (mavo, havo, atheneum and gymnasium) has a strong focus on art and culture, science and sport. Our school has been around for over 100 years and is constantly reinventing itself. The world around us is changing at a rapid pace. Our pupils are too. And at the same time, we need to help them continue to understand the world and hold their own in it. And we need you for that!

English Teacher, lower secondary education, 0.4-0.5 FTE
In the lower years, we offer modules in our JEL Academy English language and culture on.
We are looking for an inspiring English teacher with a passion for the subject who knows how to convey this to the students with enthusiasm. Are you someone who also sees English as a practical subject, has an eye for the student, enjoys collaborating and organises activities outside the classroom? Then we are looking for you!
With our focus on arts and culture, in modern foreign languages we go beyond just language and literature; art and, indeed, culture are integral to this.

You will be provided with a MacBook on loan for use within the internal digital school environment. This is a temporary vacancy.
What do you bring?
You hold a secondary school teaching qualification (second degree) or are studying towards one. You possess good pedagogical and didactic skills and have an affinity for teaching pupils across various educational streams.
You understand that education can and must be different, and you are happy to contribute to this together with colleagues. You follow educational developments closely and are proficient with new (interactive) media.

About Jan van Egmond Lyceum
The Purmerendse ScholenGroep (PSG) is a partnership of six secondary schools in the Waterland region and surrounding municipalities. The organisation has a havo/vwo campus (Jan van Egmond Lyceum and Da Vinci College), a vmbo/pro campus (SG Antoni Gaudí, SG Nelson Mandela, SG W.J. Bladergroen, the SG Gerrit Rietveld) and support services.
Within our school group, there are opportunities for both first- and second-grade teachers. The wide variety of schools within our group guarantees a highly varied job.
