Make your own way at Spark
At Vonk, we believe in education that matters! We offer a wide range of courses, from vmbo and mbo to courses and corporate training, with a strong focus on themes that shape the future: sustainability, technology, innovation and the welfare of humans, animals and nature. Whether you are young or old, we encourage everyone to develop their talents - and that includes our employees. Working together and learning together are at the heart of Vonk!
Every day, we work with passion and responsibility to provide education that meets the needs of the region and the future. Are you looking for a job where you can not only grow, but also contribute to shaping valuable education? Then Vonk is the place for you!
The vocational education (mbo) cluster Care, Social Work, Enforcement & Security, Sport & Physical Activity is looking for an education manager for the Social Work bol and PW bbl department.

Education Manager (0.8 – 1.0 FTE)
We are looking for an education manager with an affinity for vocational education and the professional field, who will provide direction for the further development of vocational education within the cluster.

What will you do?
You lead the training team operating at the Hofstraat (Schagen), Kievitstraat (Den Helder) and in-company locations. The team consists of professionals largely coming from the professional field, with commitment and innovation being of paramount importance.
You are responsible for the management, development and quality of education and for further strengthening cooperation within the team, with the professional field and with other parts of Vonk.
From the Spark strategy, you and your team will formulate clear goals that contribute to attractive, future-oriented education valued by students and the professional field.
You coordinate content-wise the general policy and draw up (multi-year) activity plans with the team, including a (multi-year) budget, monitor these and steer their execution.
You are a manager who knows how to guide the team through change by offering a clear direction, allowing room for development and building trust in innovation.
You have an affinity for educational innovation and know how to realistically link renewal to the team's daily practice. You encourage collaboration, ownership and continuous development, so that colleagues see opportunities, take initiative and jointly build an attractive and future-oriented vocational education and training sector.
An important part of your assignment is the further development of the senior secondary vocational education programmes. In doing so, you will look at the financial headroom, the content of the education, the connection to the labour market, the cooperation with pre-vocational secondary education (vmbo) and the further development of learning pathways for young people and adults. You will contribute to the growth in the number of students choosing our programmes and you will work actively on a strong profile for vocational education.
You are a member of the cluster management team and the Vonk-wide management team. From this role, you make an active contribution to the educational development and implementation of the entire Vonk mbo. You contribute to the strategic direction, ask constructively critical questions, and take responsibility for Vonk-wide themes and portfolios that align with your knowledge, experience, and expertise.
With your strategic vision and passion for education and the vocational field, you will contribute to a strong and future-proof educational offering!

Working at Vonk Den Helder
Welcome to our small-scale yet dynamic school in Den Helder! Here, we are working together to build a colourful future for our students and 137 colleagues. Personal attention is at the heart of what we do: we encourage and guide every student to develop their talents to the full.
In our modern building you will find various departments under one roof: Entrance, Healthcare and Hairdressing, Economics, Welfare and Vavo, and Education. This offers a versatile learning environment in which theory and practice seamlessly connect. Furthermore, our NT1 and NT2 teachers work closely with various community centres in Noord-Holland to make language education as accessible as possible.
Alongside theory classrooms, we have various practical spaces that are perfectly equipped for hands-on learning. For example, there is a professional hair salon where students can fully practise with the latest techniques and materials. Whether you choose a course in care, economics or another field: we offer all the facilities to prepare you for a successful career.
Our location is easily accessible: within walking distance of the station and with ample parking on site. And if you fancy a treat? Just pop into our canteen or take a look at the Albert Heijn next to the school.
