  • Start date: 26 October 2026
  • Second-degree qualification or studying for it
  • Temporary contract with possible prospect of a permanent appointment

Do you look at the world around you with a down-to-earth and curious mind? That is what we teach our pupils. We are doers. You fit in because you like both structure and innovation. Discovering new things. Exactly what we also because this is the only way to push their boundaries. Partly because of this, we have many ‘opstromers’: children who leave our school with a higher level than the recommendation they came in with. For this, you give them the confidence.

What does this position look like?
At Copernicus SG, we work with lesson objectives. These are leading rather than the teaching method. Therefore, you are given a great deal of freedom to shape your lessons as you wish. You will become part of a pleasant department where collaboration, development and involvement are central. Everything to get the maximum out of the students in an activating and safe environment.
Initially, the vacancy consists of covering lessons in the 3rd and 4th years of mavo and the 3rd year of havo.
From January ’27 the vacancy will change (due to maternity leave), and Year 8 classes will be added.
At the end of this academic year, two colleagues from the department are retiring, so a vacancy of (at least) 1.0 FTE is expected with effect from the ’27-’28 academic year.

What do you bring?
You hold or are studying for a second-degree qualification. You enjoy coaching and guiding pupils in a positive way to achieve their learning goals. In addition, you like to follow innovations in education, because our world sometimes changes quickly.

What do we offer?
A pleasant working atmosphere with short lines of communication, a high level of mutual trust and plenty of opportunities for personal development. The section holds regular meetings and supports each other with various activities and tasks.
You can help shape your own working environment and conditions. A warm, well-organised, clear school where everyone knows each other. Did you know that Copernicus SG scores a 9.7 for safety?
New colleagues can expect a pleasant start and guidance. Together, we will ensure that you quickly feel at home with us.

What does your appreciation look like?
