The function
At Sport & Movement, Dutch is about more than just language. Our students learn how to communicate clearly with athletes, parents, colleagues, and clients. As a lecturer, you help them grow into confident sports leaders and community sports coaches. Do you have an affinity for sport and movement? Then you'll feel at home with us quickly.
As a Dutch language teacher, you provide inspiring and practically oriented language education that aligns with the professional practice of our students. You prepare lessons, deliver the teaching, and are responsible for assessment, examination, and evaluation. In doing so, you tailor your teaching to the students' learning needs.
You teach students on the Sports and Exercise Leader and Community Sports Coach courses. You also play an important role in the further development of our education. You contribute ideas on how language skills can become an integral part of projects and vocational subjects, so that students also work on their language development outside of Dutch lessons.
Together with colleagues from the Basic Skills department, you will also work on the further development of education. The focus will be on more flexibility, customised learning and contemporary forms of learning.

About the team
Sport & Movement is an energetic study programme with engaged students, excellent sports facilities, and high student satisfaction. The various programmes are offered in Alkmaar, Purmerend, and Koog aan de Zaan.

You are part of the Sport and Exercise Team of around 45 enthusiastic colleagues with diverse expertise. We give each other plenty of room for personal initiative, learn from each other, and work together on high-quality education. We celebrate successes together and we address each other when something can be improved.
Your place of work is Koog aan de Zaan. Examinations also take place in Purmerend. You will be working in a close-knit team of sporty and passionate colleagues. The team is small-scale, meaning there is a lot of personal attention for students and for each other. We are fully engaged in the further development of flexible and future-oriented education. Do you have ideas about customisation, student guidance, or educational innovation? Then you will have plenty of scope here to contribute.

Job requirements

Your profile  

• You are a qualified Dutch teacher or willing to obtain this qualification.;

• you have experience in teaching and an affinity with vocational college students;

• demonstrable higher professional education work and intellectual capacity;

• You have a coaching and flexible attitude and adapt to different learning styles.;

• You work independently and know how to collaborate well with colleagues within a multidisciplinary team.;

• You contribute to a positive and stimulating learning environment.

• This is initially a temporary appointment for the period of one year, with the possibility of an extension; 

• For qualified teachers, we offer the opportunity to be appointed as a Core Teacher in salary scale LC (€4,226 to a maximum of €6,210 based on a full-time appointment). If you do not have teaching qualifications for secondary vocational education (mbo), you will be appointed as a teacher in scale LB (€3,713 to a maximum of €5,495 based on a full-time appointment). Salaries are also determined based on knowledge, experience, and education.;

• holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;
