As Deputy Head of Wilhelminalaan, you are a versatile leader who, together with the Headteacher, steers the school. The emphasis is on strategic collaboration with the Headteacher, within which you jointly provide direction for educational development and quality assurance, and ensure effective operational support. The internal portfolio division with the Headteacher will be established based on expertise and preferences, with the Deputy Head taking a strong educational position.

Depending on your experience, the gross monthly salary will be a maximum of €8,065 with a full-time appointment (scale 13, CAO VO).

About us
The Regius College Schagen offers practical education, VMBO, HAVO, Atheneum, and Gymnasium to over 2,400 students from Schagen and surrounding municipalities. The Regius College is divided into two schools, HAVO/VWO and VMBO/PRO. We believe collaboration within the Regius College campus is important.
At Wilhelminalaan, we offer education for approximately 1,250 pupils at havo and vwo (atheneum and gymnasium) levels. Alongside good and modern education, the school offers a wide range of activities in the cultural, social, sporting, creative and/or spiritual domains. The team of enthusiastic and passionate teachers and support staff care deeply for the pupils and for each other. We are a warm school where pupils feel seen and where help is easily accessible. What will you do?As Deputy Head of Wilhelminalaan, you are a versatile leader who, together with the Headteacher, steers the school. Your main responsibilities include:
- Strengthening, communicating and translating the shared vision of good education into daily teaching practice;
- Developing, implementing and safeguarding school policy and educational innovation;
- Contributing to quality development by working cyclically with the different sections on outcomes, monitoring and evaluating the educational organisation and school-wide processes;
- Promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing within the school and stimulating the professional development of staff;
- Act as a sounding board and point of contact for members of the school leadership, teachers, and support staff;
- Responsibility for operational matters, including student affairs, protocols, examination affairs and the internal organisation of the school;
- Maintaining and strengthening cooperation with internal and external partners, such as parents, primary schools and other collaborating partners.
We are looking for an authentic, strategic and flexible leader who will:
- Possesses a Bachelor's/Master's degree and intellectual capacity, preferably supplemented with a school leadership qualification.;
- Extensive experience in leadership within education – preferably within HAVO/VWO – and knowledge of educational development, HRM, and business administration processes;
- Possesses strong pedagogical expertise, has a clear vision on education, and can translate this vision into concrete educational development, with an eye for quality, innovation, and buy-in;
- possessing excellent communication skills and knowing how to build and maintain networks;
- Has an independent and proactive work attitude and can act in both a coaching and directive manner.
