Our pupils at d'Ampte prefer learning by doing. They don't just want to know how the circulatory system works from a book, but also what you do if someone has a wound (first aid) or why healthy eating is so important in sports.
As a teacher of Biology and Care & Wellbeing, you are the indispensable link. In biology lessons, you explain the fundamentals of nature and the human body. During Care & Wellbeing classes, you help students translate that knowledge into skills that will be truly useful to them later on. Whether it's people and health or life and technology: you make the subject matter tangible, relevant, and challenging.
What will you do?
You teach approximately 20 teaching hours per week. This includes biology lessons for the lower years, combined with a few teaching hours of care and welfare.
Working at D'Ampte
The d'Ampte VMBO location is part of the Tabor College and offers all educational pathways and profiles. Our motto is: the best education for every student.
The core values of the location are respect, safety and responsibility. The school is sporty, creative and practically oriented and is characterised by innovation with great attention to quality and the professional conduct of the teacher, among other things. Craftsmanship, ownership and leadership are central to the actions of every employee.
You work in a close-knit team where collegiality is paramount. You start your workday with a joint 20-minute daily brief with your team members.
Small classes and personal guidance
Classes are small, with around 20 students, so as a teacher you have a clear view of your student's development. Every d'Ampte student begins their school year with an introductory meeting and has a personal meeting with their coach every one or two weeks, instead of a class-wide mentor hour. This means the coach knows exactly what's going on and provides the right support for each student.

About Tabor College d'Ampte
DISCOVER YOUR TALENTS AT D'AMPTE
It is very important to us that our pupils enjoy going to school. What they want to become later is not so important yet. At d'Ampte, we therefore prepare pupils well for vocational training that suits their level. That is why they also learn outside the classroom, with guest lessons, internships and practical assignments.
EACH PUPIL HAS HIS OWN COACH
At d'Ampte, every pupil has a coach instead of a mentor. The coach is there to help them where necessary and to encourage and stimulate them. The coach meeting, every fortnight, helps them gain insight into their own learning and development.
LEARNING WITH AN IPAD
We can hardly imagine a world without computers, tablets and smartphones. They are part of our lives and offer us many extra opportunities to learn. That is why our students learn how to use these devices to their best advantage.
ABOUT OUR EDUCATION
d'Ampte is a school for vmbo education. For lower secondary pupils, d'Ampte offers mavo, techmavo, 3 vocational colleges and the broad route. The upper school has a large number of career-preparatory graduation profiles with 40 different electives. d'Ampte is strong in social skills lessons, technology and the positive approach.
