Atlas College is looking for SG The Triad in Edam a Trainee supervisor.
  • Scope: 0.6–1.0 FTE
  • Temporary employment
  • Start date: 1 August 2026

Who are we?
SG De Triade is *the* technical training institute in the region, offering courses for pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO - basic, frame, mixed learning, and theoretical learning paths) and the lower years of technical HAVO. We provide modern technical education with specialisms such as Construction, Housing & Interior (BWI), Production, Installation & Energy (PIE), and Media, Design & ICT (MVI). De Triade works closely with local businesses and fosters a strong team culture: “For each other and with each other, we go the extra mile.” At De Triade, every student is a priority.

The culture at The Triad is close-knit, committed and ambitious. We believe in taking responsibility together and going the extra mile: for each other and together we walk a little faster. We operate on the principle of ‘Yes, unless...’. That calls for leaders who dare to choose, give direction and take others with them in development.

We are looking for a committed student support worker who will support young people in their personal development and help them find their way back into education step by step.

What will you do?
As a pupil supervisor, the emphasis is on providing young people with peace, structure and confidence. In this role, you will provide specialist support to pupils with diverse and often complex guidance needs. You will focus specifically on behaviour, whereby analysing behavioural patterns and deploying appropriate interventions. You also play an important role in promoting attendance and enhancing motivation, so that pupils return to learning and development. You support them in achieving learning goals and developing skills such as planning, organising and structuring. You have an eye for group dynamics and know how to respond to them, while supporting teachers in dealing with pupils. You will work closely with mentors, the support team and external partners such as youth assistance. You also maintain contact with parents/carers and actively participate in pupil meetings and consultations. You are meticulous administratively: you register and maintain pupil data in student monitoring systems. You are strong in building relationships with pupils, act clearly and consistently and know how to set and maintain boundaries. You can deal with resistance and difficult behaviour and have a good insight into group processes.

In addition, you will guide and advise colleagues in the implementation of pupil support and care activities, and provide advice on the placement of new pupils. In line with agreements made, you will maintain contact with external agencies that are important for pupil care. Furthermore, you will share knowledge about pupil care and Inclusive Education within the school, and write notes with proposals to further improve support for teachers and teams.

In short: you are the link that guides pupils, with personal guidance and the strength of a committed support team, you help them to take steps.

What do you bring?
You have a completed pedagogical qualification at a minimum of MBO level 4 and bring experience from the education sector, making you familiar with different target groups. With your affinity for pupils who need extra support, both academically and behaviourally, you know how to provide them with the right guidance.

You have a strong sense of group dynamics and know how to manage them effectively. At the same time, you are alert to signs of socio-emotional issues. Furthermore, you are skilled in working with computer programs and pupil tracking systems.

Clear communication and collaboration come naturally to you; you know how to connect with diverse target audiences. In your work, you are flexible, resilient to stress, and patient, always providing structure and a sense of security.

What do we offer?
  • Inspiring work environment within a committed team of professionals with opportunities for further development.
  • A meaningful role where you truly make a difference for students.
  • Remuneration in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education; scale 7 or 8 (€2,798 to €4,449 gross for a full-time position). Your salary will depend on your current experience and grading.

About Atlas College | SG De Triade

School portrait

Scholengemeenschap De Triade is the technical training provider in the Waterland region. We believe we can turn our 620 pupils into the best (professional) men and women of the future. We do this by simply offering good technical education at vmbo level and lower secondary school. And we are proud of that.
Within The Triad, we work from four focal points: healthy, sensible, safe & convenient. In doing so, we help our pupils live a healthy lifestyle, for example, by paying attention to nutrition, social behaviour, sports & exercise, alcohol and drug use, smoking and sexuality within and outside our lessons.

Together with our students, we build the future. We teach them useful vocational skills but also guide them to become active and responsible citizens. Respect for each other and for yourself plays an important role in this. In addition to engineering classes, we also offer lessons in ‘happiness science’, so that pupils treat their trade wisely as well as their environment and themselves.
We have one important rule and that is: ‘we act normal’. This applies in the school in all areas, both inside and outside the classroom towards each other, the materials and the environment.

The Triad is a small-scale and safe school. Pupils are not only seen, they feel truly seen. This also applies to the parents of our pupils. Communication with parents and pupils is a key focus of the school. We do it together!

Within our three technical profiles BWI, MVI and PIE, pupils can develop to their full potential as a professional. We use modern means and do not lose sight of craftsmanship.
We work closely with the surrounding area, both with primary education, secondary vocational education and the municipality. We also have good contacts with companies in the region. We consider this enormously important and it is something we keep working on continuously. Our employees are visible in the surrounding area and feel connected to it.
