The caretaker: a key role in the school
Als conciërge ben jij een key figure within the school. You are visibly present, approachable for pupils and colleagues, and play an important role in the daily functioning of the school.
You have a lot of contact with students and are able to connect with them naturally. You recognise what's going on and act appropriately. This directly contributes to a safe and pleasant atmosphere.
Within the role, there is room for you to develop as:
Educational caretaker – with emphasis on student contact and guidance
or
Technical Concierge – which, in addition to contact with pupils, focuses on maintenance and facility processes
What will you do?
– To oversee the school and its grounds
– Addressing, supporting and guiding pupils
– Contributing to a safe and pleasant atmosphere
– Minor technical maintenance and practical work
– Support with activities (sometimes also in the evenings) and daily processes
– Identifying and resolving bottlenecks
Who are you?
We are looking for a colleague who:
Enthusiastic, active, and engaged.
– Happy to work with young people and feeling has with the target audience
– Visible and approachable within the school
– Eye for order, tidiness and safety
– Flexible and shows initiative
Experience is a plus, but not essential
Your attitude, energy, and commitment are most important to us. You are willing to develop yourself, for example by following courses and certifications such as BHV (company emergency response), First Aid, and other training.

About Jan van Egmond Lyceum
The Purmerendse ScholenGroep (PSG) is a partnership of six secondary schools in the Waterland region and surrounding municipalities. The organisation has a havo/vwo campus (Jan van Egmond Lyceum and Da Vinci College), a vmbo/pro campus (SG Antoni Gaudí, SG Nelson Mandela, SG W.J. Bladergroen, the SG Gerrit Rietveld) and support services.
