The Academy of Education Region Hollands Noorden is celebrating its one-year anniversary today. Employees from our region can follow training courses through their academy that align with their professional development. The offer for the 2026-2027 school year now includes 62 classroom-based training courses on a wide range of topics. There are also e-learning, coaching, and mentoring opportunities, as well as items and videos available for each employee in the region.
In addition, the collaborating academies have their own offerings, which are sometimes only accessible to employees of the respective school board. The total offer is therefore even larger.
From street culture to AI
Employees are able to find the offer. For example, a C.S.G. employee, Jan Arentsz, discovered the Street Culture training at school through her board’s portal. ‘A while ago, I looked on the JA portal and came across the training Street culture at school No. This spoke to me and the date turned out well. Moreover, it was also close by (Talland Heerhugowaard), so I quickly signed up. This took a minute to do and I received all the information immediately. During an inspiring three-hour training, I learned a lot about recognizing and tackling street culture at school.’
The offer regarding AI and mentoring is also being utilized. One participant says: ‘The offer on the learning portal is very nice and diverse. I have taken two short AI trainings; these were definitely useful despite the different entry levels of the participants. It’s also fun to come to different schools!’
Another employee discovered training that aligned with their own learning objectives: ‘The training Mentoring with confidenceSo far, I have found them very positive. The knowledge and skills I acquire during the training sessions can be immediately applied in practice, for example during my own mentoring sessions. Overall, I see the training sessions as a valuable addition to my development as a mentor.’
