Good cooperation between education and labour market improves customer journey to education

This was the gist of the customer journey roundtable discussion ’Working in education'and the role of the Hollands Noorden Education Desk.

Led by process facilitator Nathalie Bremer, we talked to partners from the region about how to better guide (lateral) entry students to a career in education.

The insight? A lot is already happening. The key lies in a good alignment between education and the labour market: it makes the customer journey clearer, more accessible and effective.

‘Good cooperation starts with knowing each other's perspectives. That helps us to shape the guidance of (lateral) entrants to education more effectively and in a more targeted way,’ says Brigitte Boots, programme manager of the Education Region Hollands Noorden.
‘It is essential that education and the labour market find each other and work together in this process. This is the only way to ensure that newcomers find a good place, with an eye for their background, talents and development needs’.’

According to project leader of the Hollands Noorden Education Counter, Jasper Kooper, the results are a nice step towards better services, precisely by connecting existing initiatives. Seth Hielema of the Realisation Unit also confirms this: ‘My expectation is that the Education Counter can really make a difference, especially in orientation and matching’. With intake broker Roswitha Fens, the Education Counter offers tailor-made services for anyone considering a switch to education in our region.

Brigitte Boots concludes with satisfaction: ‘This meeting is a start as far as I am concerned.’ Sabine Weustink (RL) (WSP Zuid-Kennemerland-IJmond) adds ‘Totally agree. We've wanted to do this together from the Work Centre with the Education Region for some time.’

🙏 Thank you to all involved for sharing knowledge, experiences and ideas. This is what we will continue to talk about and work on, as together we continue to build the future of education.
