The team behind the Education Region Hollands Noorden Academy is busy with the planning for next academic year. The difference compared to last year? Up until now, the offering mainly consisted of single half-day training sessions; in 2026/2027, we are focusing on more demand-driven learning activities and multi-day learning pathways.
Development is not a given. Individual training sessions are accessible. Multi-day learning pathways, on the other hand, require something different: time, commitment, and the willingness to engage with a subject for an extended period. At the same time, we know that it is precisely this depth that reinforces learning and increases the likelihood that new insights will actually find their way into daily practice.
What makes this step extra special is that the offer was not devised behind a desk. Fourteen boards contributed to the question of which themes are genuinely relevant in schools and in which areas staff want to develop further. Three topics emerged clearly from this joint exploration: pedagogy, didactics, and AI.
Based on this, a new offer has been put together. An offer we are proud of, precisely because we developed it together. At the same time, it is also exciting. In-house academies are not yet top of mind everywhere. Are colleagues willing to sign up for a longer series? We are going to find out. However, as a region, we are consciously choosing to invest in development that goes beyond a one-off inspiring session.
