The function
As programme manager of the Sport & Exercise Alkmaar programmes, you are integrally responsible for the implementation, development and renewal of education. You are the figurehead of our sports programmes together with your colleague manager of Sport & Bewegen Koog aan de Zaan and Purmerend. Starting from a clear vision on education, you provide frameworks for the team, enabling them to flourish and stand at their best. You translate developments in the field into new policy and you are a precondition for and initiate the development of new forms of learning and customised programmes. You are able to monitor the course, make adjustments where necessary and enable the team to achieve the best results in optimal cooperation.

You are also part of the management team of the Welfare and Sport sector. Together with your MT colleagues, you will give direction to the implementation of the sector plan and the Quality Agenda. With your experience and personality, you will be an inspiring sparring partner and a valuable reinforcement of our MT.

The Welfare and Sport (W&S) sector is formed by various programmes within this domain. We strive to provide high-quality, relevant and challenging education for our students. As a sports and/or welfare employee, you are your own instrument. This is why students work with us in a development-oriented way. This means that at W&S, we map out the personal route to qualification together, whether it is the BOL route, BBL route or continuing education; personal development into a professionally competent professional is the starting point. About the team
Team Sport and Exercise works from a clear vision drawn up with the whole team. This vision reads:

We train broadly oriented professionals to become initiators in sport, exercise and vitality. We work on personal leadership from the relationship and give our students responsibility. From this vision, we have identified the following 5 core values:

Safety, responsibility, personal development, autonomy and relationship. The vision and core values form the basis of our way of working.

Team Sport and Exercise is a diverse educational team with 22 employees (18 FTE) and is located at the Alkmaar location. Many lessons and sports activities are offered at location de Meent. The team offers Level 2, 3 and various Level 4 courses. In addition, the professional field demands more cooperation with other qualification files.

The team worked hard on team development, a shared vision of education, a good pedagogical climate and clear team goals. You know what's going on and take the team on important decisions. You work closely with your colleague manager from Sport and Exercise Purmerend and Koog a/d Zaan.

Job requirements

Your profile
You are familiar with the broad field of sport and exercise, you have knowledge of education and insight into the education of the future (certification and flexibilisation of education). You have a sense of humour, are reliable and positively critical. If you have your own background in sports and physical activity, you have an advantage. The team has included the approach culture as a spearhead in the team plan. As a manager, we expect you to set an example in this respect. In addition, you are not afraid of the necessary change challenges.

Furthermore, you bring:

  • At least a completed HBO+/ WO education with corresponding work and thinking level and extensive knowledge of MBO education;

  • at least 3 years' recent demonstrable work experience as an integrally responsible manager;

  • clarity and decisiveness:

  • Willingness to commit for several years.
