The function
As a Security Officer, together with colleagues from your team, you will be responsible for providing a welcoming and safe learning and working environment for our students and staff. You welcome visitors, supervise the building and grounds, and observe problem behaviour. If necessary, you speak to students and staff about unacceptable behaviour and jump in when situations require mediation.
In this role, you will be responsible for security in and around the site. You will have a visible presence as a security guard, in addition to wearing a security uniform. An important aspect of this role is supervising trainees from the Uniform Professions course.

About the team
Team Facilities and Service employs facilities staff who, as educational support staff, make an important contribution to a hospitable and safe (learning) environment. The facility employees also perform technical facility support activities. In the position of Security Officer, you are engaged in supervisory duties, supervision of trainees, opening and closing rounds and you will be deployed at incidents. Together with your fellow security guard, you are part of the FAFS organisation. You are free when the students have holidays.

Job requirements

Your profile
You enjoy being the Talland College's calling card. You are able to speak to students, staff and external guests in a correct and customer-friendly manner. You are flexibly deployable (day shifts, occasional evening shifts and Saturdays) and you are able to switch quickly between practical work and personal interaction with people. You have technical knowledge, good communication skills, at least 3 years' work experience and a completed MBO-2 diploma in security.
