The Rudolf Steiner College is a secondary school located in Haarlem. Our school offers Waldorf education to approximately 1,200 pupils and places emphasis on the overall development of our pupils. Tasks
- supporting teachers during horticulture lessons
- supervising apprentices during work in the field
- practical pre- and post-teaching; e.g. preparing beds, harvesting and planting, preparing and clearing tools
- Perform site maintenance including cutting grass, making minor repairs to buildings and tools, cleaning gutters, patching paths
- Identifying maintenance needs (to buildings, grounds and/or machinery) and resolving them independently or by mutual agreement
- support in making the fruit and vegetable packages
Job requirements
Skills- technically literate; basic knowledge of maintenance jobs and repairs
- affinity with biodynamic agriculture and outdoor work
- solution-oriented work attitude
- in good physical condition; for physical work
- able to plan and prioritise work independently
- communicative; makes contact easily with both pupils and colleagues
- affinity with young people: calm, clear and has natural superiority
- humour and ability to put things into perspective
- able to operate both independently and collaboratively
- weather-resistant; works outdoors every day
- preferably living in the Haarlem area
- experience in working with young people is a plus
- Open to flexible working hours. Short weekend shifts in high season by arrangement
Employment conditions
We offer the following:- an appointment for 3 days a week; working days by mutual agreement

Our growing Waldorf school is located in Haarlem and has a beautiful new building of which we are proud. Here we offer modern Waldorf education to about 1100 pupils at Mavo-Havo-VWO level.
Like any other school, a Waldorf school prepares students optimally for the final exams. However, the path towards it is different. At a Waldorf school, the development of the individual within his social context is central.
