Living Lab Global Citizens for the Classroom

The living lab World Citizens for the Classroom focuses on people with a teaching qualification in their country of origin and who now aspire to teach in Dutch secondary education or mbo. These are status holders, expats and other newcomers with a NUFFIC-certified teaching qualification.

At the start of their trajectory in the Netherlands, they often lack sufficient command of the Dutch language and knowledge about the Dutch education system, pedagogy and didactics. At the same time, they bring with them a rich cultural experience, international professional knowledge and life experience. This makes them direct enrichment for education and inspiring examples for pupils, especially for young people with a migration background.

The Education Desk guides these professionals step by step: from the initial orientation and screening to a learning-working path at a school, combined with training in language, pedagogy and didactics. Together with partners such as UAF, WSPs and Foundation World Citizens for the Classroom, we build a route to the classroom and to a more inclusive, versatile and future-oriented education.
