Targeted guidance, realistic expectations and supra-regional cooperation.
These were the focal points of the second Labour Market and Education roundtable discussion.
During the second round of this consultation, Jasper Kooper spoke about the direction of Education Region Hollands Noorden. In the coming years, the region will focus on two main goals: ensuring sufficient, well-trained teaching staff within the region and learning to deal with the shortage of teachers.
Three initiatives are underway: the Education Counter, the Regional Training School and Lifelong Development. Within the Education Desk, the emphasis is on increasing intake, improving intake processes, increasing brand awareness and structural cooperation with partners from education and the labour market.
The ambitions for 2029 are clear: the Education Desk should be the regional point of contact for anyone wanting to work in education. It will also work on agreements on lateral entry, better cooperation with partners and strengthening technical education through regional technology teams.
In the discussion, participants stressed the importance of personal coaching of lateral entrants, realistic expectations and supra-regional cooperation. They also discussed the need for clear information provision, practical tools (such as QR codes and flyers) and a joint approach towards PO and VO regions.
