On 5 February 2025, an important step was taken in addressing the teacher shortage in our region. At the inaugural meeting, 20 school boards from the secondary and middle schools and the teacher training institutes of the University of Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Hogeschool van Amsterdam came together to agree on future-proof education in our region.
Together, we focus on themes such as recruitment, matching, training and professionalisation. We do this with innovative projects, such as a pilot for hybrid teaching and innovative ways of teaching and guiding.
Why this collaboration is essential?
The teacher shortage requires structural solutions and joint action. By joining forces, we will make education in our region stronger, more attractive and ready for the future.
Together, we take steps towards a sustainable solution.
