Dutch teacher of Dutch (1st grade or 2nd grade | 0.4 FTE – 0.6 FTE)

Do you love language in the broadest sense of the word? At Werenfridus, starting in the spring of 2027, we are looking for a Dutch teacher who understands that our subject goes beyond just the d/t rules. We are looking for someone who will show students in lower and upper secondary schools (havo/vwo) that language is the key to the world. Whether it’s a sharp debate, a beautiful literary analysis, or strengthening our students’ basic skills: you bring the Dutch language to life.

What will you do?

• You teach our A-levels and VWO students.
• You will become part of a close-knit group of professionals.
• You are a ‘host or hostess’ in the classroom: you create a safe base within which students take control of their own learning process (formative work).

Initially, this is a temporary position until March 2027 (after the spring break), but there is the possibility of a permanent position.

Tabor College Werenfridus is a school for (bilingual) HAVO, Atheneum and Gymnasium.

Team
At Werenfridus, you are not only part of a department but also a member of a team. Together with the team leader, the team is responsible for the educational outcomes and the pedagogical-didactic approach within the department. We work with five teams: the foundation year, lower secondary (HAVO and VWO), and upper secondary (HAVO and VWO). Based on your affinity with the target group and the organisation's needs, you will be assigned to a team in consultation.

School plan
The foundation of our school plan is supporting students to become involved, independent and motivated global citizens. We want to do this by providing meaningful education with a strong emphasis on formative practices and the basic skills of language and mathematics, digital literacy, and citizenship. 

What do we expect from you?

• You (almost) possess a first- or second-degree qualification in the subject of Dutch.
• You are an educator at heart. You see the students and the students see you. Through your relationships, you are able to play a decisive role in the classroom dynamic.
• You have an affinity with the HAVO/VWO target audience.
