Talland College is looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented and qualified teacher of Dutch as a second language. Are you a teacher with knowledge of or an interest in education for non-native speakers? Then we are looking for you!

About the team
The International Language Transition Pathways (ITSR) department provides initial reception education for newcomers aged 16 and over (ISK) and the “Education Route” integration programme for newcomers aged 18 to 30 with a civic integration obligation on behalf of Talland College. At Talland College, newcomers are students who have not yet mastered the Dutch language and have often been in the Netherlands for less than two years. Approximately 60 staff members work in the International Language Transition Pathways team, supporting 400 students across three locations. The location-based teams operate independently while sharing knowledge with one another. We are looking for a Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) teacher for the Hoorn and Heerhugowaard locations, holding an NT2 qualification along with a secondary teaching qualification (tweedegraads bevoegdheid) or a primary education teaching qualification (PABO).

Job requirements

Your profile

• You are qualified to teach Dutch as a second language;

• you have demonstrable experience in teaching;

• naturally you have an affinity with the target audience (16+);

• you have a coaching attitude and the ability to adapt to different learning styles; 

• it is an advantage if, in addition to the above, you can teach in a culturally and trauma-sensitive manner;

• furthermore, you are fully capable of teaching in a differentiated manner;

• we are looking for someone with a proactive work ethic who can work independently and, together with the team, enhance the quality of education.

• we offer you a 0.4 - 0.8 FTE position as a teacher; 

• For qualified teachers, we offer the opportunity to be appointed to the position of Core Teacher in salary scale LC (€4,226 to €6,210 based on a full-time appointment). If you do not hold a teaching qualification for mbo, you will be placed on the salary scale as a teacher in scale LB (€3,713 to €5,495 based on a full-time appointment). Placement on the scale is also based on knowledge, experience and training;

• you will get a temporary contract, with a view to extension;

• holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;
