OVO Zaanstad is looking for a communications advisor who effortlessly combines strategy and execution. Someone who advises, creates, and brings projects from idea to completion.&nbsp;</strong><br /><br /><strong>What are you going to do</strong><br />As a communications advisor, you are the main point of contact for all communications within OVO Zaanstad. You will develop communication plans, advise the executive board and colleagues on communication issues, and contribute to organisation-wide themes such as employer branding, internal communications, PR, crisis communications, social media, positioning, student and parent communications, and communications relating to educational projects and events.<br /><br />You will maintain media contacts, provide support with press inquiries and spokesmanship, and ensure that OVO Zaanstad presents itself professionally and recognisably externally. You know how to translate complex subjects into clear messages for different target groups: from employees and pupils to parents, partners, and the media.<br /><br />You combine strategy with execution. You translate plans into concrete communication and create content yourself for various channels. You write and edit texts, are jointly responsible for employer branding communications, and contribute to strengthening our employer brand. You also develop information materials, provide final editing for text and images, and ensure the recognisability of our corporate identity. When necessary, you also liaise with external creative partners such as graphic designers, photographers, and video makers.<br /><br />This role is comprised of approximately one-third strategy, advice, and policy development, and two-thirds execution, content creation, and communication projects. You enjoy bringing projects to completion independently, from idea to result, but you also know how to prioritise when different communication requests arise simultaneously.<br /><br /><strong>Your work environment</strong><br />You work independently from the OVO Service Office and report to the Board Secretary. As the only communications professional within OVO Zaanstad, you have considerable scope to direct communication and translate creative ideas into concrete projects. You are given trust and freedom to make independent choices, set priorities, and elevate communication to a higher level.<br /><br />You enjoy working visibly and closely with the organisation. You visit the schools, build relationships with headteachers and colleagues, and advise them on communication issues. You know what is happening within the organisation and translate the needs of the schools into appropriate communication solutions.<br /><br />Around 40 colleagues from departments including HR, Finance, Facilities, and Education &amp; Quality, work together at OVO Service to support the Executive Board and the eight OVO Zaanstad schools. This diverse environment means you'll be working on a variety of subjects and for different target groups.<br /><br /><strong>Concrete assignments for the coming period</strong><ul><li>Implementing the current communication strategy and updating it towards 2028.</li><li>Implementing the new employer brand and translating it into engaging communication channels and content, such as employee stories, photography, and video.</li><li>Further developing internal communication, including the further development of the new intranet. You will do this in collaboration with an external party.</li><li>Strengthening the positioning of OVO Zaanstad and the schools.</li></ul><br /><strong>About OVO Zaanstad </strong><br />Together for good education, that is our course until 2028. OVO Zaanstad has eight public secondary schools in Zaanstad: from practical education to gymnasium. <strong>This you take with you</strong><ul><li>You have a higher vocational education (HBO) level of thinking in communications.</li><li>You have experience with content creation, social media, website management, intranet management, and newsletters.</li><li>You have experience in developing, supporting and implementing communication plans.</li><li>You have experience in communication regarding campaigns, events, and meetings.</li><li>You are proactive, creative, and able to translate current developments into opportunities for the organisation.</li><li>You can translate policy into concrete communication projects and ensure planning, coordination, and progress.</li><li>You are organisationally sensitive, sense what is going on, and have an eye for the needs of internal target groups and schools.</li><li>You can work independently, set priorities, and take ownership of internal organisational communication.</li><li>You enjoy getting your hands dirty and can easily switch between advising, creating, and executing.</li></ul>

Employment conditions

<strong>OVO offers </strong><br />We offer you a fixed-term contract with the prospect of a permanent position. Your salary will be in accordance with scale 9 of the CAO VO, based on your knowledge and experience (min. €3,326, max. €5,025 for full-time employment). In addition, we offer a generous annual leave scheme, 8% holiday pay and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%. In addition, you will receive an annual individual flexi-budget of 90 hours for full-time employment, to be spent on time off and/or money, as well as professional development hours. You’ll also receive a commuting allowance, a laptop and a mobile phone on loan, and there’s the option to work from home part of the time.
