- Scope: 0.4 FTE
- Working hours: Friday 08:00-16:00; other days (half-days) by arrangement
- Temporary contract with a view to a permanent position
- Start date: 1 August 2026
Do you view the world around you with a sober and curious outlook? That's what we teach our students too. We are doers. You'll fit in here because you love structure and innovation. Discovering new things. Exactly what we expect from our students, because that's the only way we can push our boundaries. We are a public school for mavo (vmbo-tl), havo and vwo, with around 1150 students and approximately 130 staff members.
At Copernicus, the team of educational support staff consists of 25 people who play an important role within the school. Whether it's administrative tasks, classroom support, or facility services, thanks to their commitment, teachers and pupils can perform optimally.
Do you want to make a difference too?
What does this position look like?
As an administrative employee, the tasks are very diverse and vary from day to day. You work in a dynamic environment, sharing the same office with your four other administrative colleagues. Tasks include processing changes in the student tracking system (Magister), as well as grade and exam administration (including preparation, verification, and pooling).
You have a lot of contact with other support staff, school management and teachers. But also with parents, students, other schools and organisations. You work closely with the head of administration, but of course also with your other colleagues in the department.
What might your working day look like?
At 8 AM, you start your day together with your four colleagues at the office, naturally with a cup of coffee or tea. While you discuss the weekend, the first phone calls start coming in. Together, you answer all incoming queries, from absence notifications from parents to conversations with other schools and institutions. You accurately process the notifications in Magister and liaise with the absence coordinators when necessary.
After you've finished with that, pop along to the staff room where a teacher will call you over. He's having trouble entering the marks for a student on a bespoke study plan and asks you to look into it. You'll analyse the problem, and after reviewing the student's file and the bespoke PTA, you'll pinpoint exactly where the bottleneck is and resolve it.
During lunch, you have a moment to yourself or a chat with colleagues in the staff room, outside during a walk, or simply in your own office.
After the break, the phone rings again: it's a fellow school asking you to prepare a transfer file for one of your pupils who has enrolled there. After consulting with the team leader, you ensure that the correct data is entered into the oso file and prepare it for the school in question. Naturally, you are aware of the relevant laws and regulations, so this is done precisely according to the prescribed procedure. Afterwards, you continue with what you were actually supposed to do that day; checking the profiles and subject packages of the final-year pupils. A meticulous task that really requires your full attention, demanding focus and precision. If a colleague has a question in the meantime? You prioritise, ask them to email it or refer them to another colleague.
At 4 o'clock you shut down your laptop after a productive day. Tomorrow brings a new challenge!
What do you bring?
You are accurate, meticulous, and solution-oriented. You can adapt quickly, are resilient under pressure, flexible, and have a service-oriented attitude. You also don't shy away from humour and have an open and positive outlook on life. Naturally, you are proficient with Office applications and are not intimidated by various software packages. Knowledge of Magister (or another student tracking system) is a plus. You have good communication skills and a strong command of the Dutch language. You hold a relevant administrative MBO qualification and/or have demonstrable MBO level.
What do we offer?
You work in a friendly and professional team with a lot of contact and collaboration. Togetherness is paramount: we take responsibility for the various tasks within the school, but also for each other. We do it together.
Job satisfaction, fulfilment, and plenty of opportunities for further development.
A warm, well-organised, clear school where everyone knows each other. Together, we ensure that you quickly feel at home with us.
What does your appreciation look like?
- This function is valued on scale 5 in accordance with the CAO VO. Grading depends on education and work experience.
- An end-of-year bonus of 8.33%%
- An October allowance
- Individual choice budget (ICB) of 90 hours per year (pro rata) for own spending
- A generous (tax-efficient) settlement arrangement
- A group disability insurance policy
- A leased bicycle scheme
- All school holidays free, with the exception of the first and last week of the summer holidays
- A laptop on loan
- Room for professional and personal development
