Technical Instructor (0.6 – 0.8 FTE)
Do you enjoy working with young people and helping them progress step by step?
And do you use technology to support them with this?
Then we're looking for you.
At Forta, it’s all about learning by doing, but above all about personal growth. In our technology lessons, pupils work with wood and metal. They learn technical skills, but also how to cooperate, persevere, and gain self-confidence. You play an important role in this.

What will you do?
You work in our practical workshops and guide students in learning technical skills. You translate technical skills into clear, practical instructions suitable for our students. You give clear explanations, help students get started, and ensure a safe and pleasant working atmosphere.
You:
  • guides and coaches pupils during their work
  • provides instructions and demonstrations in woodworking and metalworking
  • Helps pupils become independent step by step
  • ensures a safe and organised workshop
  • keeps materials, machines and tools tidy
  • works with the technical teachers
Within our technical department, we have two areas: wood and metal. We're looking for someone who is versatile or wants to become versatile. Flexibility and adaptability within the team are important to us. If you have more experience, you will also independently teach (parts of) practical lessons, contribute to the programme's content, and take on more responsibility in preparing and delivering practical lessons.

Job requirements

Who are you?
You enjoy working with young people and know how to motivate and guide them.
  • You have pedagogical insight and can connect well with the student.
  • You are clear, patient and consistent
  • You enjoy working practically
  • You have experience in woodworking and/or metalworking, or you want to develop this further.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively and are flexible
Experience in education is a bonus, but not a requirement. We believe it's more important that you can relate well to young people and are enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge and experience. During the procedure, we will look at which role best suits your experience: more supportive and instructional, independently executing, or rather developing and advising within practical education. Can you also give welding lessons? That would make us extra happy.

About Forta

Forta shapes practical education from the perspective of the individual pupil.
In this, engagement plays a major role. It is a safe environment where pupils and staff are seen. We give trust, are caring and patient. When things take a turn for the worse, we are there for each other.

Forta has a unique atmosphere and a human character. With us, everyone can and may be themselves. We have mutual respect for each other, get out what is in it and deal with each other in a positive way.

We are a diverse school. With us, everyone gets every opportunity to discover what they are good at. We take up the challenge together and examine in which area someone can and wants to develop. So that an appropriate next step can be taken.

Experiencing growth is the basis for personal development. If we grow individually, we also grow as a school. There is plenty of room for reflection at Forta, we create conscious learning moments and celebrate successes. We help pupils grow step by step so that they learn to be proud of themselves.

Forta. Strong in practice.
