With approximately 470 pupils, our school is small-scale, where we value attention for each other and learning through doing. We are a team-centred organisation, and our small teaching teams work with a fixed group of pupils for several years.

What will you do?

The Gerrit Rietveld is seeking a civics teacher due to a colleague's departure. As a teacher, you will teach VMBO students across all our learning pathways. For the upcoming academic year, civic studies will be developed within the subject group. You will deliver lessons and guide and coach students in achieving their learning objectives. Additionally, you will ensure a positive and safe learning environment. As a teacher, you will be able to bring out the best in every student, working together with colleagues from the teaching team.

What do you bring?

• You hold a second-degree teaching qualification or are studying for one.
• You have experience teaching social studies.
• You have strong pedagogical and teaching skills.
• You can provide a safe learning environment, a good relationship with students comes naturally to you.
• You have an affinity with teaching vmbo students
• You know how to enthuse students; through your efforts, students feel welcome and motivated to learn.
• You are solution-oriented and, above all, a team player.
• You closely follow educational innovations and are proficient with new (interactive) media.
• You are up-to-date with developments in your field.
