What will you do?
In the TOP, you welcome pupils who cannot attend regular lessons temporarily. Your goal is clear: to provide a safe ’stopover’ where the pupil can calm down, reflect on their behaviour, and simultaneously continue with their schoolwork.
You're the linchpin in a dynamic environment where no two hours are the same:
- You help pupils reflect on their own behaviour. You mirror, evaluate and give advice based on their individual support needs. You celebrate successes and give compliments to boost their independence and self-confidence.
- You provide a rock-solid structure. You make concrete agreements about expectations and monitor progress. You exude calm, consistently apply school rules, and set clear boundaries.
- You ensure that the learning process doesn't stop. You help pupils organise their assignments, support them in their own work, and collaborate closely with the pupil's coaches/mentors.
- You are a true team player. You coordinate activities with colleagues, address others where necessary, and ensure accurate record-keeping in our student tracking system.

The d'Ampte VMBO location is part of the Tabor College and offers all educational pathways and profiles. Our motto is: the best education for every student.

What do we expect from you?
- You have a relevant qualification (e.g. Social Work, Pedagogy or a similar field).
- You are a good listener and empathic, but you are also able to take the lead in a positive way and set boundaries.
- You are trying to understand the factors behind problem behaviour and are discussing this with the pupil and internal experts.
- You have knowledge and experience regarding internalising and externalising issues.
- You show initiative, are critically positive, and work from Tabor's vision: respect, safety, and responsibility.
- Availability from the start of the 2026/27 school year until at least the Christmas holidays. This is for 0.4 to 0.6 FTE. Fixed working days are Monday and Tuesday.
- Salary: A position in pay scale 8 in accordance with the Secondary Education Collective Agreement (€3,022 – €4,449 based on a full-time appointment). Your salary will depend on your experience and current pay grade. You will receive an end-of-year bonus (8.33%), holiday pay (8%) and a generous flexible working time allowance (40 hours + 50 hours for a full-time position).

It is very important to us that our pupils enjoy going to school. What they want to become later is not so important yet. At d'Ampte, we therefore prepare pupils well for vocational training that suits their level. That is why they also learn outside the classroom, with guest lessons, internships and practical assignments.

At d'Ampte, every pupil has a coach instead of a mentor. The coach is there to help them where necessary and to encourage and stimulate them. The coach meeting, every fortnight, helps them gain insight into their own learning and development.

ABOUT OUR EDUCATION
d'Ampte is a school for vmbo education. For lower secondary pupils, d'Ampte offers mavo, techmavo, 3 vocational colleges and the broad route. The upper school has a large number of career-preparatory graduation profiles with 40 different electives. d'Ampte is strong in social skills lessons, technology and the positive approach.
