About our school
The Jan van Egmond Lyceum is a school for mavo, havo, vwo, and gymnasium with Dalton education. Our focus is always on the student. We believe in opportunities for everyone – especially when learning or growing up doesn't come quite so easily.
Your role: double meaning
As a student mentor and domain coach, you fulfil a versatile and meaningful role within our school. These roles overlap at their core: you are jointly responsible for the pedagogical climate within the school.
Your responsibilities include:
- Guiding and supporting pupils – both individually and in groups
- Coaching teachers and mentors in pedagogical matters
- Advising and working with parents
- Strengthening pedagogical practice within the school
Collaboration and dynamics
You are part of a dedicated support and teaching team where hard work and agility are a given. Your day might involve guiding a student, coaching a colleague, and speaking with parents – sometimes all in quick succession.
In addition, you will collaborate with external partners, such as:
- Municipality
- Youth care
- School social work
- Youth work
- Compulsory education

About Jan van Egmond Lyceum
The Purmerendse ScholenGroep (PSG) is a partnership of six secondary schools in the Waterland region and surrounding municipalities. The organisation has a havo/vwo campus (Jan van Egmond Lyceum and Da Vinci College), a vmbo/pro campus (SG Antoni Gaudí, SG Nelson Mandela, SG W.J. Bladergroen, the SG Gerrit Rietveld) and support services.
Within our school group, there are opportunities for both first- and second-grade teachers. The wide variety of schools within our group guarantees a highly varied job.
