What will you do?
As a teacher at Compaen VMBO, you do more than just teach. You know how to inspire students with societal issues and help them understand their place in society.
You teach together with department colleagues to:
- Social studies and social and political sciences
Upper years of VMBO basic, framework and theoretical learning tracks (upper years, particularly year 3) - Citizenship
Year 2 Foundation, Intermediate and Higher Vocational streams
- pay attention to social and citizenship skills;
- Do you want to brainstorm about the development and renewal of teaching materials?;
- do you actively contribute to the further development of our education;
- Work together in a committed and professional team.
Job requirements
Who are we looking for?We are looking for a colleague who naturally takes the diversity of VMBO students into account and who is committed to their development. You:
- a passionate and student-focused teacher who enjoys collaborative work within a team of mentors and subject teachers;
- possesses, or is in the process of obtaining, a second-grade teaching qualification for social sciences/civics;
- has experience and affinity with pupils with diverse support needs;
- to make good use of varied and engaging lessons that resonate with the world of vmbo students;
- is open to pupils from different cultural and social backgrounds;
- communicates in a pleasant and professional manner with pupils and parents;
- contributes to a safe and positive learning environment;
- willing to contribute to the further development of the subject and education at school.

You will become part of an extensive network. Compaen VMBO is part of OVO Zaanstad, the school board of seven public secondary schools and an International Bridging Class in Zaanstad. About Compaen VMBO
Compaen VMBO is a cultural profile school with over 860 pupils, located in the Zaandam district of Westerwatering. The mission of Compaen VMBO is: At Compaen VMBO we educate students to become critically thinking, respectful (world) citizens who show initiative and can independently participate in the changing society. We do this from the idea of learning with space and support, both with pupils and students and with teachers. We use each other's qualities and learn and work in an inspiring environment.
Head, heart and hands
Our students do not just learn from a book. Teachers provide activating lessons, always looking for cross-curricular interfaces.
