Are you the first-grade maths teacher or the second-grade maths teacher who would like to become a first-grade teacher? And are you able to inspire Vavo students and guide them to their diplomas? The function
You provide lessons in Mathematics A and Mathematics B to students in the upper years of Vwo/Havo.
The challenge is not only to cover the material within the short school year but also to help students build their confidence, independence, and study skills. You will develop school exams and be jointly responsible for sound examination. You will do this in close collaboration with the Mathematics section of Vavo Talland. You will participate in Vavo Team meetings and also hold regular consultations with the other Mathematics teachers.
As a lecturer, you are also always a mentor for a number of students.

About the team
You will be working in an experienced and professional team of motivated Vavo teachers. The team is a mix of experienced teachers and new teachers who bring fresh insights into education. The enthusiasm for offering students a new opportunity is the unifying factor in the team.
Vavo is offered at two locations; in Alkmaar and Zaandam. The two branches work closely together, particularly within the subject sections. Vavo Talland does its utmost to guide students towards a diploma but focuses on the whole person and their success in life. Job requirements

Your profile
You have a first-degree teaching qualification in Mathematics and preferably several years of experience teaching the upper years of secondary education, ideally with examination classes. Even if you have a second-degree teaching qualification in Mathematics and the ambition to obtain a first-degree qualification, you are a candidate we would be pleased to discuss this opportunity with.
You are a team player, think in terms of possibilities and see opportunities for improvement and innovation. Flexibility and a good sense of humour can be very useful.
Experience and affinity with the young adult target group are a plus. In your role as teacher and mentor, you are able to coach students to become more confident and achieve their goals.
