We are looking for someone with a second-degree teaching qualification or who is currently training, with a fresh perspective on education and the English language. Someone who can work independently, but also has the ambition to maintain a high standard of education together with the subject department. You function well in a team, showing initiative and also knowing how to handle group work.

The student's learning process is central to you. Coaching the student on the educational process and being able to work towards learning goals are important principles for us. In addition to wanting to shape these principles, you are well-equipped in terms of subject matter (-didactics) and can take responsibility for your students' educational outcomes.

Job requirements

What will you do?
As an English teacher, you will teach our Mavo/Havo and/or Havo classes, delivering the subject to the students in an accessible and practical way. You will help them not only to learn the language but also to apply it in realistic situations. With your enthusiastic and inspiring teaching style, you will ensure that students develop.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Providing engaging English lessons for MAVO/HAVO and/or HAVO classes, with an emphasis on practical and communicative skills.
  • Differentiate your approach so that each student can develop at their own level.
  • Developing teaching materials and evaluating student progress.
  • Actively contributing to educational development and sharing ideas with colleagues.
  • Coaching pupils weekly or fortnightly.
What do we expect from you?
  • A qualification to teach English (or you are working towards obtaining one).
  • You have experience with or an interest in teaching mavo/havo and havo students.
  • A passion for the English language and culture, and the skill to convey these in an engaging manner.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can respond well to the needs of different learners.
  • You work well with colleagues and are willing to contribute to our school's team dynamic.

As a teacher at our school, you perform various roles. Besides teaching as a subject teacher, you are also involved in guiding pupils as a coach.
