We are looking for a Library Assistant for 0.7 – 0.8 FTE – Scale 6 cao-vo.

We are looking for a new colleague who enjoys guiding our students in their search for information. Do you like sharing your subject expertise to contribute to challenging education at a practice-oriented mavo/havo school where attention to the student and colleague is paramount?.
What will you do?
As a media library employee, you have a very varied workload. One moment you're lending out books and keeping records of it, the next you're helping a student find the right information on a particular topic. You ensure that new books are purchased, that the collection remains up-to-date, and that they are assessed for reading level.
In addition, you will foster a positive atmosphere in the media centre, ensuring students can work there peacefully. Our media centre is an open learning centre and the heart of the school. Students can also turn to you when they have questions about their English reading lists or are simply looking for an enjoyable (spoken) book.
The working days are Monday to Friday (hours by agreement).
Job requirements
What do we ask?
- An MBO (vocational training) qualification as a library assistant or being prepared to undertake this training.
- You have an interest in and knowledge of (children's and young adult) literature, reading levels, and want to promote reading motivation;
- You have experience and an affinity with children of secondary school age, preferably in a school setting;
- You interact easily with students and know how to address them when necessary.;
- You have good IT skills.;
- You are skilled in inventorying information needs.;
- You are aware of the developments within your field and you enjoy applying new insights in practice.;
- You have a service-oriented and proactive attitude.
- You are available from Monday to Friday.
