The Jan van Egmond Lyceum (gymnasium, atheneum and havo/mavo) has a strong focus on art & culture, science and sports. Our school has existed for over 100 years and is reinventing itself. The world around us is changing rapidly. So are our pupils. And at the same time, we need to help them continue to understand the world and hold their own in it. And we need you for that!

We are looking for a

MUSIC DOCENT (0.6-1.0 FTE)

We are looking for someone to join our team for a longer period of time, so this is a temporary vacancy with a view to permanent.

In consultation with you and the rest of our enthusiastic music section, we will decide exactly how many and which classes you will teach. Mentorship and Dalton, Arts & Science, our school-specific subject, are also among the possibilities. If you choose to teach DAS, you will work with pupils on their cross-curricular skills through projects. We also have the JEL Academy: here, pupils work on cross-curricular projects, take a module in music production or choir, for example. This academy is still under development and you are cordially invited to join it.

What do we offer?

A learning and working environment that suits the school we want to be: pleasant and safe and with care for each other and for the environment. Our motto: Discover. Choose. Grow. also applies to our colleagues. There are plenty of opportunities to develop and grow yourself.

Pay is based on competence and experience. In addition, the Purmerendse ScholenGroep offers a development-oriented task policy, collective disability insurance and various health insurances on top of the attractive terms of employment under the collective labour agreement. You will receive a MacBook on loan for use in the internal digital school environment. This is a temporary vacancy with a view to a permanent position.

What do you bring?

You know how to communicate music in an appealing way. You have or are studying for a qualification as a music teacher. You can enthuse pupils and are open to different musical styles and working methods. You understand that education can and should be different and you enjoy working together with colleagues. You keep close track of educational developments and are skilled in using new (interactive) media.
