What will you do?
The Education department offers basic skills education to adult learners through municipal subsidies. Language and numeracy classes are provided for both native speakers (NT1) and second language speakers (NT2) throughout Noord-Holland Noord.
As a teacher, your first priority is obviously teaching within educational programmes NT2 (Dutch as a second language). The course member is central. In addition to being a teacher, you are also a course counsellor. This means that you call them in their absence and discuss the progress of the programme. You are responsible for administering tests and administrative tasks related to education. You also contribute to the development and innovation of education. This can be both within your team and within the broader Vonk organisation.

What do you bring?The aim of our programmes is to contribute to the independent (or more independent) functioning of the NT2 student in society by improving basic skills. You ensure a safe atmosphere in the classroom and build a good relationship with your students. You provide tailored education, promote student autonomy and create an inspiring learning environment.
We are looking for a tutor who is genuinely interested in the target group and who has a good balance between friendliness, clarity, making contact and someone who shows leadership. You will be the tutor that course participants will enjoy remember. Of course, you are also just a great colleague to work with. You play an active role in the teaching team and support the team with your knowledge and skills.

- You have completed the NT2 teacher training or would like to obtain it as a qualified teacher for another subject;
- You have experience in teaching NT2 education;
- you adapt your didactics to the differences in the educational needs of the trainees;
- In addition, you have excellent communication skills and work well in a team;
- You manage the progress monitoring and student reporting in a structured and meticulous manner.

The Education department operates from its branches in Den Helder, Schagen, Alkmaar, and Hoorn. In addition, we teach at various locations across North Holland, as close as possible to our students, to also serve the more remote areas.
