The Private Security Officer programme is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Security Instructor. Do you have affinity with our target group and would you like to work with colleagues from the field? Then we are looking for you!

The function
The Private Security Officer course in Alkmaar is looking for an instructor with a strong affinity for practical education and the mbo target group. The programme is growing and thus developing strongly. This requires professionals who can work within a dynamic environment in which there is room for innovation. As an instructor, you support fellow lecturers and also provide independent lessons, with a clear focus on practical education. You guide students in their learning process and contribute to a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment. From your experience, you know how to address students on behaviour, responsibility and professional attitude.

Your duties

• providing practical and theory lessons within the Private Security Officer course (BOL and BBL);

• guiding students in their professional and personal development;

• Identify learning and behavioural issues and act on them appropriately;

• Collaborate with colleagues within the team and contribute to the further development of education;

• Perform team side tasks appropriate to your experience and expertise.

About the team

The programme consists of a BOL and BBL track. BBL students combine work and study and attend classes one day a week. The Private Security Officer team consists of about 14 employees and works closely with the Enforcement, Supervision & Safety course. In total, the team comprises about 22 colleagues, many of whom have experience within the uniform professions. The team is characterised by commitment, diversity in background and vision, and a shared responsibility for the quality of education.

Job requirements

Your profile

You are a stable and reflective professional with an affinity for working with young people in mbo. You have a well-developed pedagogical compass and know how to combine structure, clarity and commitment. You are open to development and innovation within education and bring a valuable contribution to the programme from your own experience. A formal teaching qualification is not a requirement; we also explicitly invite candidates from the professional field with experience in instruction, training or supervision, or a demonstrable affinity for knowledge transfer, to apply. You recognise yourself in the following:

• You have a subject-specific foundation, possibly with an emphasis or specialism, and are broadly employable within education;

• you feel at home in an evolving and collaborative training environment;

• you can connect to the lifeworld of MBO students and deal with diverse learning needs;

• You have up-to-date knowledge of or experience within the security domain or a related field.

A plus is demonstrable experience or competence in:

• fire safety;

• life-saving action (e.g. FAFS/EHBO);

• RTGB;

• sport;

• OSINT;

• drones or other relevant complementary specialisms.
