Together for good education

Shortages in education are an urgent and complex issue. No single school or programme can solve that issue alone. This challenge calls for intensive cooperation! In our Education Region, twenty boards from secondary and senior secondary vocational education join forces with the teacher training institutes of the VU, UvA and HvA and the two regional (academic) training schools ROWF and AONHW. Together, we are working on an attractive and sustainable education labour market.

Education region Hollands Noorden is part of the national network of educational regions and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Over ninety schools

With over 10,000 education professionals spread across more than 90 schools and 20 school boards, the Education Region Hollands Noorden is a unique collaboration in the Dutch education landscape.
Besides the 20 school boards, three training institutes are affiliated: the VU, the UvA and the HvA. Talland college and Vonk have a dual role. They train professionals at MBO level. Together they form the association's General Assembly of Members. Five directors form the association's executive board.

Five key themes

Our team focuses on five core themes: recruitment, matching, training, mentoring and professionalisation. We have grouped these themes into four programme lines:

From these four programme lines, we work on practical solutions for education in our region.
