Due to replacement, we are looking for a carpentry teacher. Do you have experience in construction and/or teaching? Do you enjoy inspiring and motivating our students in your field? Then we are looking for you!

The function
As a carpentry teacher, you will provide theory lessons for our students. You teach them everything there is to know about the trade. You are able to connect with the target group and know how to make them learn from there. As a study counsellor, you guide students in their personal development and in the progress of their studies.

About the team
The team in Heerhugowaard consists of 24 people. Many of the teachers have a background in construction, so the connection with professional practice is palpable. The team scores high on cooperation and collegiality, and the student's interests come first. Our team teaches about 600 students in various construction courses. Together, we train our students to become social, independent, professionally aware budding professionals and encourage a mature professional attitude so that they can be full participants in our society.

Job requirements

Your profile
We are looking for a teacher of construction technology or a carpenter with extensive practical experience in construction or in a carpentry factory. You have affinity with our target group: doers at MBO levels 2 and 3. You have good communication and teamwork skills. You think in terms of possibilities and opportunities, especially when it comes to constantly developing meaningful education for our students. To teach in mbo, you must have a completed hbo-teaching qualification or a pedagogical didactic certificate. Do you not yet have a qualification? Then you are also welcome. You can then start as a lateral entry trainee and we will give you the opportunity to obtain your diplomas. More information on lateral entry can be found at here.
