This is a temporary job with the prospect of permanent employment. You can also count on excellent terms of employment, including:- A salary dependent on education and experience in accordance with CAO VO;
- A holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;
- An October allowance of €302.50. Once you are in the final step of your scale, the October allowance is €1,640.00;
- You are free in all school holidays;
- You are entitled to an annual individual choice budget of 90 hours on a full-time basis;
- You build up your pension with ABP. SVOK pays 70% of the pension premium;
- Opportunity to participate in collective disability insurance. SVOK pays 50% of the premium;
- SVOK offers a wide range of training opportunities through the SVOK academy.

About our school
Jac. P. Thijsse College and the world around us
The Jac. P. Thijsse College is a comprehensive school of 1,700 pupils with mavo, havo and vwo in Kennemerland and has a regional appeal. It is a school with an international profile, bilingual education at havo and vwo and a social character: “Active and committed”.
This is also how we look at the world around us. And in that world, we currently distinguish three major trends that we want to respond to in our school plan. This is because we believe that these trends are decisive for our pupils. These are social, international and technological developments. In this chapter, we briefly describe these developments.
Social
A socially strong and safe school climate contributes to pupils' well-being and development. In a world in which social dynamics and cooperation are increasingly important, it is essential that pupils are emotionally and socially resilient not only in terms of their level of knowledge, but also in terms of their ability to cope. This helps them to deal with different perspectives, take responsibility and engage with their environment.
We pay structural attention to social skills, empathy and citizenship. By encouraging cooperation and dialogue, we create an inclusive learning environment in which all pupils feel heard and valued. Balancing achievement and well-being is central to this: we challenge pupils to do their best, while at the same time being attentive to their social-emotional needs. This contributes not only to their individual development, but also to a school culture in which solidarity and mutual connection are self-evident. In this, we see the school as a community.
International
The world is constantly changing and geopolitical developments have a direct impact on society and the future of our students. Knowledge of international relations, social issues and the dynamics of globalisation helps them think critically and make conscious choices as engaged citizens.
We integrate geopolitical and social issues into education to give students an understanding of the world around them. By exposing them to diverse perspectives and current developments, they develop a broad outlook and learn to think in a nuanced way. This not only fosters critical citizenship, but also awareness of the influence they themselves can exert within a larger social context.
Technology
Technology is an inseparable part of society, influencing how we work, learn and live. Students should not only be proficient users, but also be able to use digital developments critically and responsibly. Digital literacy and knowledge of AI are fundamental for their future and contribute to equity. To prepare students for this, we weave technology and AI within education. We provide a learning environment where they not only apply technology, but also understand and question it. This helps them to be media savvy, recognise ethical dilemmas and act responsibly in a digital world. We also support teachers in integrating digital skills into their lessons, so that technology is not a stand-alone topic, but a natural part of the learning process.
