In Education Region Hollands Noorden, schools, boards and partners are working together on innovative solutions to the teacher shortage. Think of regional substitute pools and help for non-native qualified teachers. Each testing ground has its own focus, tailored to the needs in the region. Education Region Hollands Noorden is an important link in this: we connect initiatives, share knowledge and ensure that potential teachers know how to find their way to education.

Living Lab Pupils on their way to becoming teachers

One of the pillars of this living lab is understanding the flow of students in our region to teacher training colleges and comparing these figures with national data.

Living Lab Global Citizens for the Classroom

The Living Lab World Citizens for the Classroom focuses on people with a teaching qualification in their country of origin and who now aspire to teach in Dutch vo or mbo.

Living Lab One team in the region

In this living lab, a flexible, future-oriented team for technical education, made up of hybrid trainers, guest lecturers and lateral entrants from industry, is being developed.

Pilot project Flexteam/Over School Resource Pool 

We are working on developing a substitute pool for vo in our region. We are doing this together and in line with the national working group on this topic.

Pilot project Flexible training routes

With this pilot project, we want to achieve a smoother transition for staff who have already started employment this school year but cannot yet start their formal zib training.

The aim of this living lab is to gain concrete insights into the use of students with paid appointments for teaching duties.
